At F.E.P Scouts by Scout Booth , we don’t just spotlight talents, we dive into the stories, the dreams, and the creative minds shaping the future of music.
In today’s episode of Exclusive Interview, we have Lysense on our E-seat, an artist making applaudable moves and putting in the work to carve his path in the industry.
In this conversation, he discuss his journey so far, his influences, and his desire to keep getting better and what the future holds for him
Let’s get to know Lysense beyond the music.

Q: Lysense? What does the name mean to you, the movement, and your craft?
“The name Lysense is my own way of saying “license.” It means I have the right to evolve with no restrictions. So, I have the “Lysense” to evolve and improve.”
Q: What has been the most challenging part of your journey so far?
“The most challenging part of the journey is visibility. In the industry, it takes more than talent to be seen or heard. The industry is a business, you pay for everything, so it’s difficult to manage real-life responsibilities and music independently.”
Q: What keeps you motivated to push forward despite the challenges?
“I know I’m different. I just pray to God to keep watering me with strength because I know the dots will connect.”
Q: : If you could describe your music in three words, what would they be?
“Calm, emotions, lyrics, and vibe.”
Q: Tell us about your recent project, when did it drop and what inspired it?
“My recent project, ‘Emotions and Reality’, is a project of mix of emotions, from pain of heartbreak, life and its challenges, to toxic relationships. It was just me tapping into emotions.”
Q: Any upcoming projects?
“For now, I just have singles I’ll be putting out. Maybe it might be the beginning of a body of work, but singles first.”
Q: You were a part of the Music Business For Africa (MBA) Students, right? What year was that, and how did the experience shape you as an artist?
“MBA for Africa was an eye-opener for me. It made me see music differently. I was in the 2023 set.”
Q: Indulge us, what’s something about you that most people don’t know?
“I love videography. I believe I’m on my path to crafting my personal style when it comes to visuals.”
Q: If you weren’t doing music, what do you think you’d be doing right now?
“I’ll have a business.”
Q: What type of business?
“I love fashion, so probably that.”
Q: How do you stay authentic in an industry that’s always evolving?
“I have tried my best to be me. I don’t want to be anybody else. I just want to refine and evolve the person I already am.”
Q: What’s one song (by any artist) that perfectly describes your current state of mind?
“Winny – Pretty.”
Q: How are you?
“I’m good. We moving.”
Q: If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
“The UK. That’s the first touchpoint between African music and the diaspora. As an artist from Nigeria, that point is important. I mean, as an artist from Nigeria, it would be great to know that your music is crossing borders to other parts of the world. So, performing there would be the starting point for me to reach the whole world..”
Q: How do you see the future of African music, and where do you think you fit into that vision?
“Africa is very much open to fresh and different sounds now. I believe I have people who love my style; I just need to get the music to them. We move one day at a time.”
Q: What future collaboration do you desire?
“I’d love to make a record with 2Baba & Winny.”
Q: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
“Excelling in all my pursuits; bigger, better, and very creative.”
Q: For people discovering you for the first time, what’s one thing you’d like them to know about you and your music?
“For the people just discovering me, I say, “Welcome. You will love it.”
This was a wonderful conversation and Lysense’s deep understanding of the music business, combined with his desire to grow and relentless work ethic, proves that his name is one we’ll be hearing for a long time.
